Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon, UT
August 2001

Dear Jake & Amelia,
Bryce Canyon is beautiful. Winding through woods and meadows, we drove from overlook to overlook. To the east, the green Paunsaugunt Plateau dropped away sharply. Erosion had carved golden pinnacles and spires from the Claron Formation. They towered above the canyon floor. The glowing reddish hues of the rock contrasted with the green trees and the blue sky. As we continued, the views started to look as if the hoodoos and fins had simply rearranged themselves.
